Three other men were also abused by Ashley, two of whom were allegedly raped, the court heard. One of the rape victims, who was being treated for HIV, was given an 'ultimatum' to meet Ashley who said he had 'terminal colon cancer'. After the pair went out they returned to the HIV sufferer's home where the defendant 'shoved poppers under his nose'.
The man, who the court heard was raped by Ashley, said he 'lost count of the number of times he said no'.

Portsmouth Crown Court pictured heard Ashley raped three men including an HIV sufferer and assaulted another after administering the sleep drugs zopiclone and diazepam. A third complainant, who met him on Grindr, said he felt unwell after drinking tea with Ashley and woke up to discover sex toys laying on the bed which were used on him. Ashley, from Fareham in Hampshire, denies four counts of rape, two counts of attempted rape, and four counts of administering a substance with intent. Prosecutor Robert Bryan said the student, who was allegedly raped and drugged, met Ashley on Grindr and the pair agreed to go jogging then returned to his then-home in Portsmouth.
In a video played to jurors, the student said Ashley poured him a glass of strawberry and lime Kopparberg cider as he watched football on TV. He said: 'I had a couple of sips, it wasn't even a quarter of the glass. The pair went to Ashley's bedroom and had kissed, which he was 'okay with', the University of Portsmouth student said. He added: 'We kissed and it went blank. The next thing I remember - he was behind me and we were having sex. Things went black again and he was pushing my head down on to his penis.

He said things went black again but he then remembers Ashley having sex with him. He said Ashley asked: 'I love you, do you love me? Mr Bryan said in days that followed the incident, the student asked Ashley if he put anything in his drink. Ashley said: 'Are you suggesting I spiked your drink?
If so, no, I really liked you, are you saying you didn't want me or want anything? But the complainant added: 'I did have a drink with a relaxant in it though.. That's when alarm bells rang.

The third victim said he 'felt as if he had inhaled laughing gas' but had only drank tea when with Ashley.
