Aquarium amusments and much more its a alright place if you dont want to spend a lot just dont go on the naturist beach stick to the normall beaches and your be alright. It is several years since I have visited this beach as I live quite some distance away, but with the weather being so hot I went today. I was quite surprised that the road no longer exists and all the equipment I took for a good day out had to stay in the boot of the car.
Walking along the pebbles, weaving between all the rubble was quite arduous and it took a good 20 mins to reach the nude section. Having been on nude beaches all over the world, I was shocked at just how much litter was around, and not just what had been washed up. In some places it was in large piles where nudists had tried to tidy up the beach.
I did brave the sea three times to cool down, sandals were needed because of the sharp pebbles and quite a lot of glass. The sea was by no means clear but shelves slowly and is quite safe.
It was busy and everyone seemed to be having a good time. A lot of gay men go to the far end of the beach and seem to do nothing but walk up and down all day but it was relaxing. The beach has no shade at all so a parasol etc is essential. Tara and I went down there a few weeks ago when the hot sun was about during the week.
It takes around 20 minutes to walk from the car park to the beach which is good as it puts off non naturist from going there just to snoop! There used to be a road down to the naturist beach, but not anymore. There was rubbish strew around but this cleared away as you got closer to the naturist area. The beach is quite large - around 2 miles long and is not overlooked. It backs on to wasteground which stretches for around 1 - 2 miles before it borders on to a road or track. The beach seems to be split into three different areas. The first part of the beach is straight naturists. Here there were several couples, two women on there own and around 5 men.
There was a good atmosphere, no one stared at you and one could relax. The second half of the beach was men only, and I learned that this is unofficially the gay part of the beach. Despite being exclusively men, Tara and I did not feel intimated and the men behaved respectfully, when we strolled along this part of the beach. The third part of the beach is the sand dunes behind the beach. Here couples were camped out in tents and also many men had set their towels down here. I was told by some regulars that this is or used to be a kind of swinging area and that some couples get a little bit carried away and end up having sex with others watching nearby.
Overall, if you understand the different areas of this naturist beach, you can have a great time. There are no facilities as such so you need to take your own drinks, food and sunshade.
