But when he arrived at their meeting place he was confronted by vigilantes from Dark Justice and arrested by police. Lavelle, of Welbeck Road, Walker , pleaded guilty to attempting to meet a year-old girl following sexual grooming. Lewis Hooper, 21, has been sentenced for the mindless attack in Gateshead in and for engaging in a police pursuit while on the run. A court was told how Hooper had spotted a year-old man who he had a grudge with walking in the opposite direction along Chowdene Bank.
Hooper immediately turned his vehicle around, mounted the pavement and drove into the unsuspecting victim. He slammed his silver Seat Leon into reverse to hit his former friend for a second time, but thankfully he was able to roll out the way. His victim was taken to hospital but miraculously only suffered cuts and bruises as a result of the attack. Hooper, of Rockmore Road, Winlaton , had already fled the scene at high speed, colliding with multiple stationary vehicles to escape police capture.
